Corvin 2.0: (Just Like) Starting Over

Hey Dear Readers, welcome to my first post in 2013!
Last summer there was some talk on my behalf of redrawing the pages of my famously pending "graphic novel", Corvin. Now it's aaall happening!
Let's hope that it results in a more professional look than what I was capable of doing three or four years ago.

Now, behold Chapter 1, page 1 and 2:

Panel 3
Pip: Where on earth are we?
Colin: How should I know? I thought we were only testing the passage gate and arriving at the courtyard of the palace!
Pip: Well, this is positively not Milan!

Panel1
Pip: What the heck is this?

Panel 2
Pip: Look, here's our pack!
Colin: Yep, and a letter too!

Panel 3
Pip: Whaaat...???

Panel 4
Colin: So that's why we had to test it at once!
letter: Ragazzi!
We are short on time so you had to travel right away. Do as I told and find Lord Corvin.
Best of luck,
Il Principe

Panel 5
Pip: So much about testing... Such a shifty crook! What shall we do now?
Colin: Let's go find this Corvin guy! We are supposed to be on his estates. Someone will surely give us directions!

Also, the following page is going to a genuinely new one. It will take a couple of weeks to appear here, as I haven't really started working on it yet.

Ozone Mama Inked

Hey Y'all, (as our friends from the States sometimes say)
Welcome to (most probably) the last post of a not very prolific year. The good news is: it seems like the world didn't end today after all, so I have the chance to draw more next year.

Here is the inked and well, let's say greyed and blacked instead of coloured image, the early penciled version of which you may have seen here this summer http://agentoozecomics.blogspot.hu/2012/08/ozone-mama-high-voltage-rock-and-roll.html. Without repeating myself I'll suffice it to say that Ozone Mama is an awesome and hard-working rock band who deserve to make it big. They're playing two more gigs before the new year in Budapest, check 'em out if you can.

Happy Holidays, Folks!

Bone Birthday Card

Till my hotly awaited new comics are conceived and created. This card for a friend's birthday is based on one of Jeff Smith's promotional works for his brilliant graphic novel, Bone. Check it out if you haven't yet!

El Mariachi de Bánkitó

Hey Dear Readers,

This is the little account of this year's Bánkitó Festival, which was held in late July, so this single page took ages to complete. The reason probably being that I wanted to document a little sequence that took place on the last day but couldn't get around to start working on it a few weeks after the event.
In the meantime I realized that I forgot to provide any explanation to last year's festival post (http://agentoozecomics.blogspot.hu/2011/09/sexy-times-at-bankito.html) Well, let's just say that it is a perfect little festival in a perfect chilled out village in Hungary. A real island of sanity, save for a ruined toilet or two...

Panel 1
Bánkitó, last day's early afternoon
Me: Look at that. Can Lackó really play the guitar?
Ricsi: Dunno, but he surely knows how to hold it.

Panel 2
Ricsi & Me: Lackóóó! Play us something, willya?

Panel 3
Me: Desperadooo!
Ricsi: Can you do the Székely Anthem? (a slightly nationalistic song not typically sang at this festival)

Panel 4
Ricsi: Woow, such a big rocker!

Panel 6
Lackó: Hallo, Gica? Have I seen Kardos Dani's guitar? Weeelll, you know....

Hope something comes across from the atmosphere. Dear Readers, this is definitely not my most prolific year comicswise, but I plan to do another post or two before it's done. So stick around!

Corvin - it's alive

Hey Dear Readers,
I have stated a couple of times that my Corvin medieval fantasy graphic novel project is still going despite the non-appearance of any new pages here nearly in a year. Now here's some proof, as I decided to go back to square one and draw new thumbnail storyboards to Chapter 1. While it may not sound that exciting, and in fact further delays the anyway uncertain completion of the project, the necessary re-structuring occasionally results in creating some new material, like the following page:

Panel 1
Pip: If you're saying so... And which way shall we start out?
Colin: Say, that way, as I already have my arm stretched out...

Panel 2
P: For all I care... But who's carrying the bag?
C: You can be first, and then I will it take over.

Panel 3
P: Pfff... I hope you'll do that soon. It's darn heavy!
C: Tribulations strengthen your character you know!

Panel 4
P: Isn't it enough tribulation to search for some barbarian chieftain at the edge of the world?
C: We're in Transylvania, not at the edge of the world. As for Lord Corvin, the priests always say that he is the shield of Christendom.

Panel 5
P: I haven't heard of that. But to be frank, I haven't been to mass for two months or so.
C: Then you surely deserve this much suffering! Your mum would surely slap you through the ear, if she knew!

Panel 6
P: Oh, come on, Mum isn't known for her slaps... Anyway, the whole thing is dead boring since they stopped preaching about eternal damnation.
C: I'm quite fond of the idea that there is more to human life than just a vale of tears...

There is more to come, I swear by Pip's salvation ;o) - but really

Ozone Mama - High voltage Rock and Roll!

Hi Folks, it's been a while... again. I made this fine drawing a few weeks back, but now actually have more reason to present it than solely showing off my artwork.

Depicted above is Ozone Mama, an up-and- coming Hungarian rock band, whose vintage rock sound positively kicks ass. I happen to know Andris, their guitar player from some really old days, when we had some serious fun at the freshman camp of a respectable catholic university...
The band has kicked it into higher gear this year by becoming the "Newcomer of the Year"
at Fonogram Hungarian Music Awards, as well as gigging their heads off in and about Budapest. Their next aim is to make a new EP, which may be a potential breakthrough across the borders, but quality recording costs a a lot of money.
Here's your chance to contribute. Check out the call from Andris and lead singer Marci at
http://www.indiegogo.com/p/165663 where you can choose from a number of packages to donate for the good of humankind and rock and roll. $5 already helps, but the higher the amount, the more exciting are the pressies you're getting in return ;o) The deadline is 20 August, so there's still plenty of time to give.
More music can be checked out at the band's site: http://www.ozonemama.com/homepage.php
In closing here's their latest music video,  which testifies of members keen sense humor beside their talent for music. Enjoy!
